More for amusement than anything else. I kept rhyming one night and couldn't go to sleep until I wrote all this down in the dark, using my cell phone for a light. It was great. Anywho, here 'tis.
Bride's Speech
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who helped to make me grow.
You pushed me off the diving board
And told me “Sink or go.”
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who had to make me see.
My Grandpa’s up in heaven
Where Fluffy went to be.
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who kept me on my toes.
Sometimes you may be joking
But no one really knows.
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who helps to make me grow.
You sit right down and tell me
All the things that I should know.
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who has to make me see.
Not all boys are good
And to keep them away from me.
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who keeps me on my toes.
You yell at me to never fight
But you help against my foes.
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who got me here today.
And when I finish this
I’m throwing the bouquet.
Oh daddy you’re the one
That made my life complete.
But you won’t be around tonight
So we’ll leave it up to Pete.
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who got me through it all.
I don’t know what I’ll do
Without you waiting in the hall.
Oh daddy you’re the one
Who helped to make me grow.
So would you hurry up
And please just LET ME GO!
With this one, my English class had to go through this awful writing workshop where we wrote 4 different papers and a poem for like 6 weeks, it sucked. Anyway, I came up with this. I don't like it much but oh well.
Worry
Sleepless nights, wasted days
Easily done in many ways.
Will your friend forgive you
For avoiding that fight?
Does Grandma still know you
With her mind’s fading light?
Remember what
You forgot to do.
Forget again
But remember that too.
People will lie
And then they get caught.
Some others go free
But you might not.
Think of one
Who caught your eye.
Will they be the one
Who will make you cry?
Worry about who
Is next in line.
Will someone close to you
Pay the ultimate fine?
Know what you’ve lost,
What your memory retains.
What lies in your future?
You’re unsure what remains.
Easily done in many ways
Sleepless nights, wasted days.
