Synopsis: While Kouhei ranks among the best in paranormal photography, he’s never actually seen a ghost. So when he fails to capture a hauntingly beautiful young girl on camera, curiosity drives him into the arms of a vampire and a world he cannot comprehend. Hazuki, having waited years for someone to finally set her free, proves unwilling to part with her unwitting hero and follows him home, promptly adopting his life as her own. And as the petite fanged wreaks her own flavor of havoc, mysterious forces conspire to reclaim what was lost. The truth could be one that none dare to face.
A story of forces both light and dark, of family curses and bonds stronger than blood. Some riddles are best left unsolved…
Enjoyment:
Content: Quite a few bath scenes with the girls, although they aren't sexualized and they are supposed to be there for more of a cutesy affect. You don't really see much anyway, as their arms or rocks (in the hot spring) etc block most of the view. What you do see isn't detailed. The girls actually wear pretty decent clothing though, instead of all the skimpy "let's see how small of clothing we can wear" usual of most shows. There are three references to lesbians, but the first is just a side character that's only in that one episode who basically says she's lesbian, while the other girl is weirded out by it, the second is a joke, and the third is where two girls accidentally kiss each other on the lips, but they express how gross it is. One girl accidentally sits on a guy's head, but it's just there for humor and there's nothing really to object about it. There's a lot of fighting. There's some blood, but not all that much. Most of the fighting is magic, so if you're someone that objects to magic don't watch this. The magazine a couple of the main characters is called "occult magazine" although none of the magic or anything else is actually anything to do with the occult, so no worries there. One of the main characters curses in just about every episode, though it's almost always "da*n" with quite a few "he*l"s, a few "cr*p"s and one "p*ss" These are the only words used (I might have missed one but I don't think so) and they are not all that frequent (compared to most animes) and they aren't super dirty words. There's also one scene where a character gets drunk but there's nothing really objective about it.
Suggested Age: 10-12+
As this is my first review, I'll say that it may sound like it has a lot of questionable content, but remember I am giving very detailed reviews, so, naturally, the content category is pretty big in anything.
Review: Work in Progress
MoonPhase is a very entertaining series. There's comedy, action, horror, suspense, romance, fantasy, and so much more. This show has a bit of everything.
