I've heard quite a bit about it, but I don't actually know any Mormons so I could be off. What I know I've learned from the Dare 2 Share book and from what my mom told me they said on this tv show called Wretched.
Mormons usually consider themselves Christians, but, they believe you get to heaven by works, not faith. They believe Jesus was once a human who lived on another planet. They believe he was so good in works that he became a god. Then, he went to Earth and he is the god of Earth. Then, once this world ends, one or two people from earth will be so good in works that they became gods and they go to another planet. And it just keeps repeating. They say they don't know how many gods there were before Jesus though.
They also think the gods have wives who help them run the planet.
They read the book of Mormon which is a totally separate book from our Christian Bible. The guy who wrote it and claimed the whole thing about people from other planets claims that he knows all this because of dreams he had that were visions of the past.
Common misconceptions are that Mormons can marry at age 14. I dunno where that idea came from but it's not true.
And that's about all I know. I could post a little more from my dare 2 share book but I can't find it. lol

We just did a Religion projects on other religions within Christianity. We all had to present information on the religions of our choice and give out a handout. I don`t remember what was said about Mormons, but I`ll say what`s on the handout.
The founder was Joseph Smith in the 1830s. He claimed to be visited by two heavenly beings, Jesus and God, who instructed him to create a new church. In a vision of the Prophet Moroni, Smith was told of the existence and location of several gold plates which he translated into the Book of Mormon.
They believe that Christ is the one and only route to salvation; He is the saviour. Smith taught that Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit were three separate beings. Our lives as humans is believed to be a test of our worthiness to be with God. Mormons do not drink coffee, tea, alcohol, or smoke tobacco because Smith received a vision telling him these were harmful substances. The main holiday is the Sabbath every Sunday; other holy days relate to special events and blessings by God.
Mormon churches are divided into wards, each with about 435 members and a Bishop leads each ward. About 5-12 wards are overseen by one stake. They have three hour services, consisting of Sacrament (a mass like gathering), Sunday School, and Relief Society (meetings divided by age and gender to learn more about faith). Everyone in the Church has a calling, a volunteer position to help within the church. Calling options include being the Bishop for 4-7 years.
Sacred Texts - Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price. Original Sin - Idea rejected; babies born innocent. After Life - Go to a spiritual world where people are prepared to be rejoined with their bodies in a resurrection. Sacraments - Four sacraments: faith, baptism, repentance, and laying on of the hands. Place of Worship - Temple or chapel Faith Leader - President (Monson) Congregation Leader - Bishop: has an alternate full time job, called by God to fulfil position, duration of seven years and most, and can be married and have children.
So that`s all the information I have. Some information may vary from church to church, a lot of this information was from the Kitchener 1st Ward. The last section was differences between Catholicism and Mormonism, but I left out the Catholicism part. I hope this helps, and you can probably use Wikipedia or something to find more.

Yeah, we may have information from two different groups of Mormons or something. You could always try the dare 2 share forums. boards.dare2share.org/There are some mormons there so you could ask them personally.

Lol, I'm not a hundred percent sure of the accuracy of my information. It was Laura's group, and she's kinda not smart. "So can Jews eat horses since they have split hooves?" Miss Keleher didn't say anything was inaccurate though, so I'm hoping it's right because I have a test on Christianity on Monday. These were the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I'm not sure if there are other divisions of Mormonism. Wikipedia says that the Latter Day Saints are usually what's being talked about when people are talking about Mormons though.
